February Fun!

It was a very cold, dreary day in February. There's no better time to liven things up with a sleepover! This month Samantha, David and Olivia came and were busy the ENTIRE time!
First, they each colored or painted a Valentine decoration for their Moms.


Then we decided to make some homemade Valentines.




For dinner this month we went to Soup-er Chili Night at church. It is an annual fundraiser for St. Luke's Mission of Mercy on the East side of Buffalo and helps with their winter heating bills. It's all the food you can eat! The kids tried and didn't really care for the chili (John and I LOVED it) but all of them loved the homemade chicken noodle soup! There were all kinds of homemade rolls, breadsticks, corn bread, crackers and homemade desserts to go with it. The Voices of Mercy provided music while we were dining. Sammi especially REALLY enjoyed the music, easily catching on to the words and melody and singing along.



In our attempt to have the kids fall asleep earlier than 10:00 this time, we all got into our PJs as soon as we got home from the dinner at church. It was close to 8:00 by the time everyone got dressed, sleeping bags were set up on the floor and Grandpa made "snacks". Everyone fell asleep relatively early this time (me included, of course)although Sammi was woken up at 12:30AM by David's snoring and Livvie using her as a pillow.

Sunday morning: Church, Donut Sunday (with a visit from Benny, Fr. Bill's dog) and home for eggs. Then it was more crafts as the kids each made a crown to wear in the play.
Grandpa got out his tape recorder and they recorded a radio show complete with a story ("The Lost Princess"), news, weather, sports, commercials and breaking news alerts. Time flew by as everyone was cracking up listening to Grandpa's weird voices.


Livvie was picked up first. We still had a little time before Sammi and David got picked up so we decorated some Valentine cookies!
There were some sprinkles and sparkles to clean up but we made alot of memories this weekend! After the kids left John and I sat down to watch a little TV and promptly fell asleep. Think we're getting old?
