4th of July - Rajczak Style!!

The 4th of July is one of the MAJOR holidays of the year for my two brothers, Michael and Joe.

Every year they put on a beautiful fireworks display, each year getting bigger and better stuff, topping the year before. And this year was no exception!

Joe and Dar decorate for the 4th better than most people decorate for Christmas! Red, white and blue is everywhere! The garage is decorated inside and out; flag plates, red, white and blue foil decorations with stars hang from the ceiling. There's even an Uncle Sam hanging on the door! Blue, white and red lights adorn the bushes in front of their house, and giant stars hang from the front gutters.

The best decoration is the giant blow up peace symbol in front of the house that NO patriotic American home should be without!

Blowing off fireworks for many years was strictly a "guy" thing - until Matty's wife Erica joined them! She's a pyro like the boys now!

Darlene loves sparklers and this year passed them out to everyone (including the adults) so we could all play with her! It brought back wonderful memories of childhood, running up and down Delray writing my name in cursive with the sparklers or dancing and twirling on the neighbors' lawns.

After all the little stuff was blown up, we all walked down to the playground at the end of their street for the annual can-you-top-this display between the Rajczaks and the rest of the neighborhood. The neighbors now know to expect a fantastic display and bring their chairs (and their company) out front to watch. This year was the best yet!! No matter which way you looked there were fireworks going off in the distance- it was beautiful - it sounded like a war zone!! Then our guys went to work and outdid themselves. It was SPECTACULAR!!

What a great way to celebrate our country's birthday - with family and fireworks.
And there was even M & M salad!!
